Faller 101

This little railwaystation was only produced by Faller in 1951. Very little models are known to exist these days. A picture of it was only in the catalogue from 1951.

This is a very adorable model of a little railwaystation also because of its symplicity.

It was handmade from plywood.The roof was made of massive wood, the shutters and doors were made of thin cardboard and

the window frames of paper.

In 1951 Faller used for the first time a black and white station clock made also of paper.

It was also in 1951 that Faller used for the the first time a hipped roof on a railwaystation.

 

The figures in the pictures are by Preiser. They were hand-made of wood and are from the same period.

The wonderful handmade spruce-firs are also from the early fifties made by VEB Sebnitz

In the pictur below you see the original label from Faller in 1951. Notice the numbering it is in red. From 1953 Faller most of the time used

a brown number.
