Faller 229
This beautiful hand-made model of a saw-mill was made en sold by Faller from 1953 till 1959.
Today it is not easy to find them complete and in working condition.
The plastic figures you see in the picture below are from 1957 made by Siku. I used them because the scale is a little bit bigger than the HO scale. The wooden horses and carriage with the wonderful metal wheels are from the Erdzgebirge Seiffen Germany and are very old. They were handmade between 1940-1950. Its scale combines very good with the Siku figures.
The saw is really working on this model . At the same time the water-wheel is turning.
Faller also used very expensive timber on this model.
In the picture below you see the original Faller stamp. The number is in a brown colour so this model is from about 1954
If the number was in red it was made in 1953
