Faller Fabrik 214

This hand-made model of a factory was made by Faller in about 1952. Today a complete early model 214 is very rare.

The original chimney is made out of one piece of moulded thick paper/cardboard. It is only painted on the outside. The shape should be conical/tapered. The window-frames are from paper and the doors are from cardboard.

The little roof above the loading-platform is on early models made of masive wood covered with painted toilet-paper.

On later models this little roof is bigger and made from plastic.

The wooden figures are from Preiser and the cars from Wiking.

In this picture the cars and figures are from Siku

The original hand-painted walls and chimny are in my opinion wonderful done by a real artist in 1952

On the picture below I want to show you the bottom of model 214 and the bottom of the original masive wooden little roof above the loading-platform.

In the picture below you see a very old original Faller stamp from about 1952. The number 214 is in red. On later models it is in brown.

The price was 23 German Marks in 1952. After the second world war this was a lot of money. Very few of these models were sold

because of the price.
